Feels something like summertime, top down and nothin’ but time 🕶 Drive along the coast from Wailea to Lāhainā, doing Maui right with a Ford Mustang convertible
– The Wharf –
Before leaving the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, we made sure to put the top down on our Ford Mustang and take full advantage of the convertible during sunset. We set out on a Friday evening and of course hit some traffic along the coast, but what better view could we have had? No complaints on our part. Sure it took a little longer to get there, but we got some fun driving photos (my head might be turned, but the sunglasses hide the fact that I’m actually looking straight ahead – totally safe) while simultaneously enjoying a gorgeous sunset.
This night was the only night we made it to Lāhainā and we lucked out on it being Art Night; would love to say we planned it that way but it was purely happenstance. Like most places on Maui, everything in Lāhainā shuts down relatively early (especially for us New Yorkers who are used to everything staying open until the wee hours of the morning). Art Night however kept all the galleries open at least, providing us with some evening activity; so after our dinner (see photo below… #YUM) we walked around and popped into any galleries that caught our eye. The galleries were stocked with local photographs and countless Maui related artwork. If my pocketbook were a little deeper, I might have been tempted to purchase something. Those pockets though would have to be beyond deep… practically cavernous to cover the cost.
Closed out the evening by stopping in to Sand People (my first time in one) and walking around in my Urban Outfitters pineapple short sleeve button down… let’s just say I felt right at home. Check out the YouTube video above to see all the pineapple gear they have!
