A good overcoat makes all the difference in your looks this winter. With coats covering up my would be stylish top half while I’m out and about, I love making a statement with these Desert Boots by Clarks Originals. And for when I’m in the warmth of the indoors? This high collared, fabric you want to reach out and touch, Topman sweater does the trick.

The winter season is upon us and as the temperatures drop it becomes even more imperative that we dress appropriately. Although in reality we’ve had quite the mild winter so far in NYC. The snows have come but not lingered. Still though, being bundled up while also remaining fashionable and holding on to your own personal style isn’t always the easiest goal to accomplish. That’s why I absolutely adore this Grey Salt And Pepper Wool Mix Overcoat by Topman. It has great lines and keeps me warm without adding too much extra winter puff.
One of my biggest annoyances with the colder it gets outside is how much higher places crank up the heat inside! Having grown up in a house that had a pretty low heat level, I’m pretty averse to too much heat, especially direct hot air. This disparity in temperatures going from the outside to inside and vice versa can drive a guy crazy! You’re hot, you’re cold, hot, cold, hot….. it’s never ending! That’s why the clothes underneath the overcoat are just as important during these winter months. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve left dinner or drinks from a piping hot restaurant only to walk outside in the dead of winter carrying my coat waiting to cool down.
That is why I love this Stone Turtle Neck Split Hem Slim Fit Sweater. The utter simplicity of this Topman sweater is what makes it so versatile, warm yet breathable. I have longer arms and typically experience issues with off the rack clothing always having too short of sleeves. This little number sits on me perfectly though and the asymmetrical split hem adds the perfect touch of design.
I’ve been keeping my winter clothing pallet more gray, black, and peach. Those peach and champagne colors, like the one showcased on this Topman sweater, seamlessly bridge the gap between blues and blacks. I chose to compliment the sweater with a pair of Burberry Brit Slim-Fit Washed Stretch-Denim Jeans but the sweater also works quite effortlessly with solid black or off black gray pants. Trust me, I’ve worn it that way too! I stuck with the denim pairing for this look because I wanted to feature the Clarks Original Desert Boot that I mentioned in my last post. I’m seriously in love with these shoes. Check out my full post dedicated ‘solely’ to them for all the details!
