Music can truly take people on emotional journeys, I know it sure does for me at least. And one of those musical genres that gets me every time are all those sad country songs. I grew up on a farm in the midwest and needless to say, everyday whether it be on the bus ride to/from school or riding in the passenger seat of my parent’s cars; we were always listening to country. I may have gravitated away from country music since moving away, but it holds a dear place in my heart.
When you listen to a lot of it growing up through all your emotions, you really do become connected. This playlist reflects a good deal of the songs that were prevalent during my country days and always brought me to a vulnerable place. A couple of these songs make me cry every time I hear them, but those details are best left to me and my memories. Hopefully you’ll appreciate slowing down, decompressing, and maybe even having a good cry. Spend some time reflecting, you’ll be glad you did.
