Walking around the quaint Central Park Zoo of the Upper East Side is such a great way to spend an afternoon! It is the perfect short activity to break up a day of running around the city. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to tourists seeing as there are much larger zoos so close by, aka The Bronx Zoo. But if you’re a local and you find yourself in Central Park having a lazy Tuesday afternoon, popping in will add a little fun spice to your summer day! Check out some of the moments I was able to capture!

It is easy to visit all parts of the zoo fairly quickly, roughly two hours at a leisurely pace. If you are a local and have an idNYC card, be sure to visit The Bronx Zoo first to register your year membership to the zoos of the five boroughs. You cannot register at Central Park and will need to pay the $12.00 general admission fee.
